Figo deal back on

Figo had pledged to stay with Real Madrid for the rest of his contract after the Spanish club refused to give Figo a pay off. However, Madrid don't want a player who is no longer a part of their plans at the club for another year and look likely to come to an agreement with the Portugese star.

Rafael Benitez has admitted the deal to bring Figo to Anfield on a one year contract could be back on. "We are waiting for news, we have heard nothing as yet," he said. "We are in Lithuania and he is flying from Japan so maybe we will hear something later in the week."

Benitez says he will definitely bring in a right sided midfielder before the start of the season.
