Finnan was hoping to be passed fit in time for yesterday's game against his old club but the game came around just that little bit too soon. Instead the player hopes to be in Houllier's plans for the visit to Old Trafford.
Anthony Le Tallec is also on the road to recovery and hopes to return to first team duty before the end of the season.
