Finnan back in action

He will join Jamie Carragher in the game at Southport's Haig Road after recovering from a hamstring injury that has kept him out of action for two months.

"Both Steve and Carra will be involved in tomorrow's game. They will play at least 45 minutes," confirmed Gerard Houllier.

"I'm hoping Steve may be available for our FA Cup tie with Newcastle. We will see how he does. It's also great to have Carra back."
