Finnan demands Irish improvement

"It's the first game at home and we need to get a result," said the Liverpool defender.

"We need to start winning if we are to have a chance of qualifying. You look at the home games and we have got to win them basically.

"Certainly we can't afford too many more slip-ups if we want to do well in the campaign.

"They are a very good side, they've been in good form in terms of the campaign. They've got quality players. It's obviously a difficult game, but we're at home and thinking we can get a result.

"If we don't win we're not out of it, but certainly from a confidence view it would be great to get the campaign up and running if we do get a win."
