Finnan doubt for Charlton?

Full-back Steve Finnan has picked up a neck injury ruling him out of the game with Sweden and making him a doubt for Saturday’s game with Charlton.

Republic boss Steve Staunton, confirmed Finnan has returned to Anfield due to the problem he suffered during a training session.

"Stevie Finnan will be going back to Liverpool," said Staunton. "He's got a little neck injury. There's no point taking a chance.

"Liverpool were good enough to let him come over in the first place, there are no problems."
