The Champions of Europe host Anderlecht at Anfield tonight, knowing that victory will virtually guarentee them a place in the last sixteen. Full-back Steve Finnan is confident the Reds can earn that victory.

He said: "To win away in Belgium was another good result for us after our opening victory against Betis. It was well deserved and means we have a great chance of qualifying from the group. We have two home games coming up now before we play Chelsea away and everyone is confident.

"We heard all about their poor record in the group stages before the game in Brussels but every game in Europe is difficult," he adds. "We created a lot of chances against them in our last meeting but I think they also showed that they are capable of causing us some problems and we certainly can't afford to take them lightly.

"[Mbo] Mpenza is a lively front player who looked sharp and there are some other very quick and dangerous players up front with him. Also, at right-back they've got a player that everyone in Belgium has high hopes for – Anthony Vanden Borre. He's only young but he caught the eye when going forward and looks a really good player."
