Finnan feeling fine

The Reds are currently languishing in a hugely disappointing 11th place in the Premiership table - five below Finnan's former side Fulham - but the Republic of Ireland defender has made it clear that he is more then happy to be part of Gerard Houllier's plans.

Finnan said: "I'm not here to please the media. I can turn a blind eye to criticism on the television or in the papers, I've always been like that.

"I've had some contact with the fans - they've been very supportive, telling me I've joined the right club and all that which is good.

"I'd like to think I've done alright so far. There's a lot more to come from me. I feel I can do better and improve, what with the experience I'm getting playing with this quality of players and coaches."
