Finnan praises defenders

Paletta and Insua have played in the Reds' last two league games, both 1-0 defeats, and their performances have earned them the praise of one of Liverpool's most consistent players.

"They both did very well at Fulham, particularly when you think of how difficult it can be coming into a team which has been changed quite dramatically," said Finnan.

"There have been seven or eight changes but they have both slotted in really well.

"Obviously, Insua is a young lad who a lot of people don't know too much about and Paletta has played a bit more.

"But it is important that they come in and get this experience because then they can be used even more.

"Next season we will be looking to challenge in all competitions so they should be looking to play a part in that and play even more games."
