The 18-year-old starlet first came to the attention of keen-eyed Anfield scouts following an impressive display for Finaland under-17's against their Welsh counterparts at last summer's World Youth Championships.

While Kiljunen knows that he must make further improvement to secure a dream move to the Premierhip, he feels all at Melwood were made fully aware of his goalkeeping talents.

Kiljunen said: "We played against Wales' Under-17 team. We lost 2-1 and I played for 30 minutes but I didn't have much to do. Everything went well. Someone looked at me all the time and everything is fine for me.

"There were different things in keeper training that I discussed with the coach. They were very interested about how keepers train in Finland. They were happy with my attitude and skills. They said I need more physical training and I already know that."
