Former Blue hoping for good result

Liverpool host Reading at Anfield in the third round of the Carling Cup this evening and Royals midfielder John Oster is hoping his good record against the Reds continues tonight.

"Generally, I have a decent record against them. We beat them in the first derby I ever played in. We won 1-0 at home and then drew 1-1 at their place. I don't think I lost one when I was up at Everton," said the former Wales international.

"I might get a little bit of stick from the Liverpool fans but I don't think they will be too bothered - they will be more bothered about their own team.

"They haven't been firing on all cylinders. I did actually fancy them to be quite strong this year and for some reason they haven't been.

"I don't know whether it is because they change the team week in, week out and they haven't gelled."
