Former Liverpool defender Jason McAteer has admitted that he threw a tantrum when he was dropped from the Republic of Ireland team that drew 1-1 with Germany.
"I sat on the bed and cried like a baby. I was so upset," said McAteer.
"The pain turned to anger and I considered picking up the telly and throwing it out the window.
"I thought about smashing everything in the room. I was really bitter and angry."
