Former Red calls for Houllier to resign

"We've fallen off the pace in the league," he told the Scunthorpe Telegraph while on a visit to the city last week.

"To be talking about finishing fourth in the league as the target is just not good enough for a club like Liverpool.

"The reason for that is the present crop of players bought by the present manager, who I think should resign.

"Liverpool should still be able entice a top manager from either Britain or from abroad."
