With Paulo Di Canio pulling out with a groin injury and Freddie Kanoute still sidelined, Camara may get a rare opportunity to show what he's capable of at his old hunting ground.

A rapturous reception greeted Jamie Redknapp last Saturday, and now Camara is hoping that the 'fair' Anfield fans will give welcome him back to the club which game him a 'fantastic' season.

He said: "I am there to give service to West Ham, and it is true that little by little I am getting football - but I would really like to show what I am capable of.

"It will be difficult at Liverpool but anything is possible in a match, and I would be happy to return to action on Saturday up there.

"It was good at Liverpool but I am at West Ham now and happy here even if I am not playing. I had one fantastic season up there, but now it is part of my past.

"The Liverpool fans are fair and I hope it will be okay - and I would do everything to earn my place in the West Ham side."
