Johnson, who was part of the Reds side that saw off Real Madrid in the 1981 European Cup final in Paris, suffered a heart attack whilst in the Far East for a coaching trip with other former Anfield heroes.
The 52-year-old was rushed to a local hospital, where he was quickly operated upon after being diagnosed with a blocked artery.
