The former Irish international did not live up to expectations during his five seasons at Anfield, but is hoping to be able to keep Michael Owen at bay this afternoon.

"Michael is a great striker, you don't need me to tell you that, but there are ways of combating players with pace. I'm not so bad myself in the pace stakes," said Babb.

"Michael's an ex-colleague of mine and he's a good bloke, and it's great to be playing against him.

"It's what it's all about and it's what I've missed. It's great to play in the Premiership and play against top quality strikers week in, week our.

"It's a challenge for me personally, and yes, I'm looking forward to it!"
