Former Liverpool midfielder Jan Molby has resigned from his job as manager of Kidderminster Harriers and he is now tipped to take over at Hull City.

Kidderminster chairman Colin Youngjohns said: "We did everything in our power to try to keep him, but Jan clearly felt that he had taken the team as far as he could.

"I am sure that everyone connected with the football club would like to join me in wishing Jan Molby and his family every success in the future.

"We would like to place on record our sincere thanks for the massive contribution Jan has made to the development of the club over the last three years.

"Jan Molby made the dream of Nationwide League football a reality in this town."

Giving his side of the situation, Hull City chairman Adam Pearson said: "We, along with several other clubs are looking to strengthen our management structure and Jan is certainly someone we would be interested in speaking to.

"But we are still sifting through a number of CVs to find the right person for the job.

"Jan's resignation from Kidderminster says he is looking for a new job and so has put himself in the shop window.

"But I doubt Jan has resigned purely because Hull City are interested in him - he sees there are a number of opportunities available to him, not just ours."
