Former Liverpool target Muzzy Izzet could be on his way to Middlesbrough in time for the new campaign.
Boro have made a formal offer of £5million to Leicester City for Izzet, a player Gerard Houllier has previously sniffed around with a view to making a move.
"I haven't decided what I'm doing but I'd like to be part of the Premier League," said Izzet.
City were relegated from the Premiership last season.
