Nando said: "We cannot fail. We must gain four wins from the games we have left and hope Everton drop points.

"I think it can happen and I have confidence because we did not fail in the derby when we beat them. Little by little things in all parts of my game are getting better, but I would like to value my work when I have played one full season," he added.

But Nando said he was happy to have scored the opening goal against Pompey which gave the team momentum for the victory.

"To feel the sensation of scoring a goal is the best thing for a forward. I am happy that my goal at Portsmouth has helped us get an important victory," he said.
