Fowler move collapses

Fowler, who scored 171 goals in 330 appearances for the Reds, was prepared to take a substantial pay-cut in order to seal the deal but the move has still floundered at the last minute.

Fowler's agent George Scott said: "He had time to reflect on the deal and realised it was not the right move for him, although he was flattered by Kevin Keegan's interest".

Scott's words will only add fuel to the rumours that another club has made a late bid for Fowler.
