Fowler should inspire other strikers

Fowler may not be fit enough for a first team return just yet but Rafa Benitez believes God's presence at Melwood should act as a catalyst for the other strikers to improve their form.

"It's good for the competitiveness to have Robbie here. If the players don't understand that they have to work hard, always, at this level, then they should not be playing. Robbie's arrival will help things," says Benitez.

"If you have more players competing for the same position, that makes everyone work harder. We're creating chances but we do need to score more goals.

"Now, with Robbie, we have more competition up front. When we decided to sign him, we knew we were signing a player who needs to work hard. I've told him that. He's a player who can score a lot of goals and give other players things we need."
