Marseille have already expressed an interest, but now Gerard Houllier's Lyon have emerged as favourites to sign Cisse.
"Gerard Houllier signed him at Liverpool, so he is a player he likes," revealed Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas. "Also, Cisse knows Sylvain Wiltord very well.
"As Djibril has stated, Lyon could be a destination for him. We will study the situation more closely, maybe even during the two days break the French team has this weekend."
