French stars set to debut

The former Le Havre duo were unable to play against Cologne after failing to acquire international clearance in time for the friendly clash, but Gerard Houllier believes that his prodigious compatriots could figure in Saturday's Gresty Road fixture.

Houllier said: "Unfortunately they couldn't play against Cologne, but they should be involved against Crewe. It will be a good experience for them to get a chance in the remaining pre-season games."
