"There aren't too many players on the pitch from my time with Liverpool, there's only Sami Hyypia, Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard that I played with," said Friedel.
"Off the pitch there are quite a few so it is a very happy return when I go back. It is a club I want to see win the most behind Blackburn.
"Liverpool Football Club is a tremendous club but I've found my home at Blackburn and I'm very happy here."
