The 17 year old full-back was signed from Seville in the summer and made his Liverpool debut in the Champions League qualifier against CSKA Sofia. Although Barragan has not been at Anfield long he has already impressed Garcia.

Garcia said: "Antonio did well when he came on. He was probably a little nervous inside because of his age but it didn't show when he was called upon by the boss.

"Even though we're both from Spain, I didn't know too much about him before he arrived in the summer but I've heard he's very highly-rated back home. In training he's looked very impressive and he doesn't seem too overwhelmed about moving to such a big club in a new country at such an early age. I'm sure he will learn so much in training this season and if he gets a chance in the first team, he must make the most of it."
