Garcia voted player of the round

Garcia was nominated for the award after a good performance against Chelsea that culminated in a stunning strike to win the game. Garcia picked up 37% of the vote to win the player of the round. Fellow Red Xabi Alonso was third in the voting with 21% of the vote.

Luis Garcia joins fellow Reds Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard in the FA's Team of the FA Cup. This is the first time three players from the same club have ever featured in the Team of the FA Cup.

Garcia wins an engraved silver salver for himself and £1000 of football equipment for a local school, club or organisation of his choice.
