Although he played for Liverpool during the 50's, he is best remembered for bringing a wealth of talent to the club, including Alan Kennedy, Phil Neal, Alan Hansen and Ian Rush.
After being replaced by Ron Yeats he became chief scout at Glasgow Rangers.
