Gerrard admits luck won't last

After yet another fortunate victory over Standard Liege on Wednesday, the Liverpool skipper admitted that the team need to start performing.

"If you'd asked me I'd be happy with two wins out of two in the League and making it through to the Champions League.

"We haven't given our best performances yet and maybe we have had a lot of luck, but one day your luck will run out and then we will have to perform really well to win."

Gerrard now faces two weeks on the sidelines with a groin injury, although returning Olympic heroes Javier Mascherano and Lucas Leiva will be available for Sunday's game at Aston Villa.
