Gerrard candidate for England captaincy

David Beckham stepped down as England captain after Saturday's defeat to Portugal and the end of the Sven Goran Eriksson era. Steven Gerrard is a possible candidate to replace him.

John Terry is the 1-2 favourite to replace Beckham but Gerrard is the bookies' second favourite at 2/1. Gary Neville is 5/1 while ex-Red Michael Owen is 14/1.
