Gerrard delighted to be on the scoresheet

Gerrard was determined to put in a good display after his poor back pass led to France's last minute penalty winner on Sunday and he certainly gave one.

Gerrard said: "This was a fantastic result for us. It is always nice to score but to win was the main thing.
 
"Everyone is buzzing and full of confidence and we hope to continue that against Croatia on Monday."
