Gerrard favourite for England captaincy

New England manager Steve McClaren will announce his new captain on Friday. Chelsea's John Terry was the original favourite but since McClaren has visited his players and talked to them about the role, Steven Gerrard has emerged as the new favourite.

Gerrard is the popular choice amongst the England squad to succeed David Beckham and is now likely to get the nod.
