"I feel that if we get to the Champions League he will definitely stay, but if we don't then he has a big decision to make," said the Liverpool captain.
"He really wants to play Champions League football, it's as simple as that. If we don't make it then he is going to move on.
"I am desperate for him to stay but the only person who knows whether he is going to go is Michael himself."
