Gerrard said: "Michael put the ball at my feet and I found the target - it's nice to get on the scoresheet. I didn't have a smooth ride for England at the start so it's good to score tonight. Three in 17 is not too bad.
"It's been a long hard season but we've got to put that behind us now - we've got a massive game next week and we'll go into that now with some confidence.
"I finished strongly for Liverpool this season and I'm trying to take that into these games. We know what Slovakia are about and we know they are capable."
