Gerrard hails King Kenny

Gerrard believes last night's hard fought victory over Fulham, and the spirit shown to earn it, is testament to the belief Dalglish has brought to the club following his return as manager.

"The manager has brought the whole club together, the players and supporters together," said the skipper.

"Smiles are back on the lads' faces in training and the new manager has come in and given everyone a lift.

"That's what this club is all about - sticking together and fighting for results. So although we weren't terrific against Fulham I thought we showed great determination and a terrific desire, and sometimes that's what's needed

"The manager is letting us play with freedom. I thought the lads played very well against Everton and they were terrific against Wolves.

"We showed a great desire to get the three points against Fulham. It's always important when you don't play to your maximum and at your best that you still pick up wins.

"Early on in the season if we had played like that we might have lost the game or just got a draw, so we are really pleased with the three points.

"Credit to Fulham, they were very organised and difficult to break down but we kept pushing and we got a bit of luck with the goal. You need bits of luck at times."
