Gerrard loses England captaincy

Fabio Capello has appointed Rio Ferdinand, who once "forgot" to attend a mandatory drugs test, as captain for tonight's friendly against France. Capello won't announce his permanent captain until the World Cup qualifiers start in September so Steven Gerrard still has a chance of earning the captain's armband.
