Gerrard: Make history

The Reds will play for a fifth European Cup at the end of the month. With the winners of the previous four heros to a man, Gerrard is hopeful that this current crop of Reds can emulate them and go down in history as Liverpool earn a fifth win that will allow them to keep the trophy for ever.

"There is no doubt we have the chance to become legends at the club - and we want to grab that," said Gerrard.

"We have been disappointing domestically this season, and really, I don't think any of us thought about actually reaching the final this year.

"There were some fantastic teams in the competition and we have been underdogs from the start. But we have produced some great form in the Champions League, and when we beat Olympiakos we started to get a feeling we could do it.

"Now we are in the final with a chance for history. It will be tough against Milan. But you can be sure we are up for it and we will fight incredibly hard to bring the cup back for the Liverpool fans."
