Gerrard not for sale

The 23-year-old midfielder is said to be the latest target for the club's wealthy benefactor Roman Abramovich but the Reds have moved swiftly to reassure fans that the England international is not for sale - at any price.

A club spokesman said: "The player is not for sale at any price. He is a central part of Gerard Houllier's plans so they will be wasting their time."
