Gerrard out of England squad

The Liverpool captain is out of the England squad for this week's friendly against Germany after picking up an injury in Saturday's win over Bolton. Gerrard is also a doubt for the home game against Fulham next Saturday.

"Steven picked up an injury in yesterday's game at Bolton," said press spokesman Ian Cotton.

"A scan this morning has confirmed a tear in the adductor magnus muscle in his right leg, and he is expected to be out between seven to 10 days."
