The Liverpool captain played 90 minutes as England beat Kazakhstan 5-1 at Wembley yesterday to make it three wins out of three and maintained their place at the top of Group Six.
Despite the scoreline it was not a good performance by England. It took two goals in the final four minutes to add a bit of respectability to the result and questions will again be asked about Gerrard and Frank Lampard's ability to play as a central midfield partnership.
