Gerrard relieves pressure on McClaren

England were booed off at half time as they were held to a goalless first half by the minnows of Group E. However two goals by Steven Gerrard and a 90th minute debut goal by Preston's David Nugent relieved the pressure on the under fire England boss.

Gerrard's first goal was a 20 yard strike after 53 minutes while his second was a neat finish after 75 minutes.
