Gerrard returns

The Liverpool captain has travelled with the squad to Spain for Wednesday's Champions League fixture against Real Madrid. Gerrard has missed the last couple of games with a hamstring injury but has recovered enough to at least make the trip to the Bernabau.

"Steven will be in the squad. He was okay in training this morning," said Rafael Benitez.

"It was a special training session so we were not testing him one hundred per cent, but he trained okay so we will see."
