Gerrard set for central role

With Momo Sissoko out until the New Year, Gerrard is set to partner Xabi Alonso in the heart of Liverpool's midfield. Jermaine Pennant is likely to come in on the right side of midfield, although an impressive wide performance for Wales on Tuesday could see Craig Bellamy out there.

"I spoke to Benitez and he said I will get a lot more time in the middle now with Sissoko's injury," said Gerrard.

"We need to start picking up performances on the road for Liverpool, starting on Saturday."
