Gerrard set for England return

The 23-year-old was sorely missed as Sven Goran-Eriksson's men struggled to a 2-1 win in Macedonia but he could be set for a recall for the Old Trafford Clash after making a welcome return to training.

The FA's head of media, Adrian Bevington, said: "Steven Gerrard and Rio Ferdinand have both now rejoined the squad after our return to Manchester and were taking part in training with the rest of the squad today."
