Gerrard still hoping for title glory

The Liverpool midfielder insists that the inconsistent nature of this season's title race has left the Anfield club well in contention for the prize.

He said: "We are still hanging in there. It is very dog-eat-dog at the top and nobody is not being beaten. No-one is running away with it yet.

"It's an unusual title race and hopefully that can continue and we can get ourselves sorted out. In previous seasons I think the run we are in would have seen us out of the title race but lucky for us we started the season very well and picked up a lot of points."

Gerrard added: "Arsenal are the best side I've played against this season when we met in the Community Shield but on our day I think we have the players to match them. It is just so important to show that now."
