"It's fantastic for myself and a good personal achievement, but we came here to win the game tonight, get six points and get in the driving seat in the group," he said after the game.

"We go to Atletico next and if we get a result there we've got one foot in the next round, and that's the plan.

"It's always a fantastic feeling and experience to score infront of the Kop so it was nice to say thank you for all the support they've given me over the years.

"It's great for Robbie to get off the mark too. I'm sure he'll go on to score many more now. The atmosphere in the dressing room is fantastic and it was great to build on that tonight.

"I think if you're winning football matches and playing well the belief grows and confidence grows. We feel as if whenever we go out we're confident we can win.

"There's a good bond on and off the pitch and it certainly helps us when we're on it. We're always together whether we go infront or go behind, I think we've shown that this season.

"But we've not won anything yet. It's a good start and we take each games as it comes but its important to put some silverware on the table this year because this club's gone two years without some so it's our responsibility to deliver."
