Gerrard travels to Belgium

Gerrard is a doubt for tomorrow's Champions League qualifier against Standard Liege after picking up a thigh injury in last week's friendly against Valerenga. However, the skipper is responding to treatment and has travelled with the squad for the game.

"I was talking with him this morning and he will go with us to Belgium," said Rafael Benitez.

"He is progressing really well but we will check tomorrow after training. I will speak with the doctor and with Steven and then decide."
