The in-form 23-year-old England star has began talks to renew a deal that now has less two years run and he insists that he is 'definitely going to sign a new contract' at the club.
"Talks have now started and they are progressing really well," revealed Gerrard.
"I'm certain everything will be sorted very soon. I don't forsee any problems at all because I'm definitely going to sign a new contract. I always wanted to stay and that's exactly what's going to happen."
