"It was a nice strike, I enjoyed it, but it would have been nice to have gone home with three points today," he said. "So it doesn't mean as much as it would if we'd won the game.
"Knowing that Everton were getting beaten it was a great chance to get closer but we're frustrated that we didn't get the three points.
"We controlled most of the game, but they defended well. Southgate was magnificent.
"We piled a lot of pressure on them but never created many clear cut chances but thought we deserved to nick the three points today."
