Gerrard: We're halfway there

"It was a big night, a big win but it means nothing unless we finish off the job in three weeks time so we're not going to get carried away," said the Liverpool skipper after the game.

"We're happy with the clean sheet and the two-goal lead but you're talking a second game against a top side so we mustn't underestimate them.

"Inter Milan got a lot of men behind the ball and were playing for nil-nil so it was important to be patient and in the last few minutes we got our rewards because they were very tired and we kept the tempo high and eventually the breakthrough came.
