Liverpool travel to Teesside tomorrow searching for their first Premiership away win of the season. Johnathon Woodgate believes that if his side are to deny the Reds that all important first away victory they must find a way to stop Steven Gerrard.

"I know Craig Bellamy well and with the likes of Kuyt and Fowler, Liverpool have got some fantastic talent," said the Boro captain.

"But without doubt, the main man is Steven Gerrard and we have got to stop him.

"They have not won on the road for a few games now, but they are still one of the best teams in the country and two years ago, they showed they were the best team in Europe.

"Some of the players are phenomenal. It will be a hard game for us, but we need to make it hard for them also."
