Gerrard's death threat horror

The Sunday Mirror claims that the England midfielder sought the help of police when the threats began some 2 years ago. Gerrard is said to have had a brick thrown through the window of his home, while, on another occasion, he was chased in his car in the streets of Liverpool.
The threats could well have contributed to a slump in form suffered by the 22 year-old earlier in the season. When Gerard Houllier alluded to problems in Gerrard's "environment" it was assumed that drink and a busy social life were the height of his faults. Now, it seems, Gerrard has suffered from far greater problems throughout his young career.
